The South Baldwin Chamber Foundation began Quarter 4 with substantial donations from three local industry leaders. Columbia Southern University, Collins Aerospace, & Baldwin Health each gifted items to directly impact students at our area schools.
Columbia Southern University graciously donated a complete set of race timing equipment, a value near $6,000, to the Foundation. With this gift, Foundation staff will manage timing at races local to the south Baldwin area. With three races already scheduled through the end of 2024 and nearly a dozen more scheduled for 2025, this donation will continue to create funding for the Chamber Foundation for years to come.
Collins Aerospace presented the Chamber Foundation with a $7,000 grant to be allocated to Robotics & STEM programs at schools within the Foley feeder pattern. These programs allow students to create tactical, complex, and collaborative skills that are used both inside the classroom and in the workforce.
Baldwin Health, previously South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, held a competition between departments to collect hygiene products for the students in our community. The Baldwin Health staff donated hundreds of items, including toothbrushes, toothpastes, deodorants, body washes, shampoos, hairbrushes, and more! Over 20 bags were packed and delivered to schools within the Foley feeder pattern for "care closets" within the classrooms.
